One of the REVALUE project’s key findings was the growing significance of energy efficiency in the housing sector, despite there not yet being a clear linear relationship between a property’s energy efficiency and its value. The conclusion features in a EURACTIV article – Building a better business case for healthy buildings.
The article goes on to highlight the split incentives situation between tenants and landlords as an important barrier to increasing renovation rates across Europe. With landlords and housing providers paying to renovate their housing stock, the savings are passed on to the tenants’ energy bills.
